Dual Enrollment: High School or Adult School Admission and Enrollment Steps
Spring 2025 Updates
Please read the information on this page carefully, as the enrollment process has changed for spring 2025.
Dual Enrollment is a program that allows current high school and adult school students to take classes at Los Rios Community College District. Dual Enrollment students may enroll in 11 units each semester (across the Los Rios district).
Eligibility
- The student has completed eighth grade or will be at least 14 years old by the first day of instruction (visit the Academic Calendar to find the first day of the full term).
- The student is prepared for advanced study as recommended by their school official.
- If a high school student, then the student has parental consent to be admitted and enrolled at the college.
Note: Your high school may have a College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) agreement with Los Rios Community College District that establishes pathways of courses that meet specific goals. Students participating in CCAP Dual Enrollment programming must submit the Special Admit Form described on this page.

Not a Dual Enrollment Student?
If you are not a Dual Enrollment student, then you may need to follow different steps. Find out what type of student you are and get the correct steps for you!
Apply to a Los Rios College
Create an OpenCCC account using a personal email (or log in if you already have an account) and fill out the online application for any of the Los Rios colleges. As a Dual Enrollment student, select enrolling in high school and college at the same time.
Continuing/Current Students
If you are a continuing (current) student, then you need to submit a supplemental enrollment form each semester instead of a CCCApply application. You can find the Supplemental Enrollment Form in eServices (click on the Tasks tile). The form asks you to review and update your contact information, education goal, and major.
Students Must Reside in California
Students who are not physically located in California may not enroll in online courses offered by Los Rios Community College District. Los Rios Community College District is not authorized to provide education outside the boundaries of the State of California.
Set Up eServices and Los Rios Gmail
eServices is Los Rios' online student portal where students manage their information, records, classes, and more.
After your application is processed, you will receive an email with your Los Rios student ID number (also known as a "W" number or "wID"). This is a seven-digit number with a preceding "W"; for example, W0000001.
You will use your Los Rios ID and password to log in to multiple services, including Canvas, eServices, Los Rios Gmail, and instructional lab computers.
Students who submit an application without a social security number (SSN) should contact the Admissions and Records Office at the college to which they applied to expedite the processing of their application:
- For American River College, email admissions@arc.losrios.edu.
- For Cosumnes River College, fill out the CRC Student ID Help Form.
- For Folsom Lake College, call (916) 608-6501 or email admissions@flc.losrios.edu.
- For Sacramento City College, fill out the SCC Student ID Help Form.
Meet With a High School or Adult School Official
Meet with your high school or adult school counselor (or designee) to discuss prospective courses you wish to take. Let them know that after you've submitted your Special Admit for Dual Enrollment form, they will receive an email requesting their approval.
Submit Special Admit Form
Complete this form to request special admission (dual enrollment) to enroll in college courses while you are enrolled in high school or an adult education program in pursuit of your high school diploma.
You will need the following to complete this form:
- The name, email address, and phone number of your parent or guardian (unless you are an adult school student)
- The name, email address, and phone number of your school official
Check Your Email for Confirmation and Enrollment Information
After your Special Admit Form has been processed and approved by Admissions and Records, you will receive an email that contains enrollment information. Dual Enrollment students receive priority 3 registration.
Enroll in Classes
You can enroll in classes online via eServices during or after your enrollment appointment window.
You will be assigned an enrollment appointment, which is the earliest date and time you can enroll in classes. You can find your enrollment appointment in eServices.
You can enroll in classes at multiple Los Rios colleges. To do this, log in to eServices and follow these steps:
- Click Manage Classes.
- Click Add Another College.
- Follow the instructions to add the college where you want to take classes for the selected term.
Pay Your Fees
Pay your fees after you are enrolled in classes.
Tuition fees* and Universal Transit Pass (UTP) fees are waived for Dual Enrollment students – however, you are responsible for paying the rest of your fees, including the student representation fee. Students can opt out of the student representation fee.
You can see how much you owe and pay your fees in eServices. From your dashboard, click Financial Account, then Account Balance.
* Tuition fees are not waived for international students.
Email Steps
Get Help
Students must use a personal email, not a high school email, to complete their application. Free email accounts are available from many sources:
Note: While all of the providers listed above have millions of users and are widely trusted to be reliable and secure, OpenCCC and the CCC Chancellor's Office do not endorse any particular email providers, and will have no liability should any issues arise with a particular email provider.
You only need to submit one CCCApply application to take classes at any college in the Los Rios district – don't spend unnecessary time submitting separate applications for each college.
After your application is processed, we will email you a student ID number and instructions for next steps.
Students who have created a CCCApply account must log in using the account they created; they should not create a new account. Students who forgot their username/password can use the "Forgot" icon on the CCCApply site.
Students who use this function and still cannot find their username/password can call the OpenCCC helpline. If they don’t have their username or password and aren’t able to answer security questions to retrieve that information, then the student will have to contact CCCApply directly.
Los Rios Community College District does not have access to CCCApply account information.
Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and Section 49061 of the Education Code, parents of community college students do not have a right of access to their children's student records, regardless of whether the student is under the age of 18.
