COVID-19 Health and Safety Procedures

Los Rios Community College District has been following Cal/OSHA’s non-emergency COVID-19 standards, which officially expired on February 3, 2025. Given these changes, we are updating our COVID-19 protocols.

What’s Changing

  • We will no longer actively monitor COVID-19 cases or symptoms.
  • Students no longer need to report positive COVID-19 cases.
  • Employees must still report positive COVID-19 cases, as required by Cal/OSHA guidelines (through February 3, 2026). Learn about reporting positive cases.
  • Exposure notifications will no longer be issued to classrooms or workspaces.

Though Los Rios is no longer required to supply masks or COVID-19 tests, our Student Health and Wellness Centers will continue to provide them as long as supplies are available.

Preventing the Spread of Respiratory Illness

If you are sick, help prevent the spread of respiratory illness (such as COVID-19, Flu, and RSV) by staying home until you’re well. You can resume normal activities when both of the following have been true for at least 24 hours:

  • Your symptoms are improving
  • You’ve been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications

For tips on how to care for yourself if you have COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses, see the California Department of Public Health's information on respiratory viruses.

Visit your college's Student Health and Wellness Center for free respiratory virus testing, over-the-counter medications, guidance for self-care, and more. Walk-ins and appointments are welcome.
