Crisis Lines
For immediate or life-threatening mental health emergencies, help is available 24/7 at these websites and phone numbers:
- 988 California: Call or text 988 anytime for immediate support from trained crisis counselors for mental health, substance use, or suicidal crises.
- Crisis Text Line: Free, confidential, crisis support via text. Text COURAGE to 741741 to connect with a trained crisis counselor.
- California Coalition for Youth (CCY) Crisis Line: Free, confidential support for youth and young adults (12 to 24 years old) experiencing crisis, family conflict, homelessness, or emotional distress. Call (800) 843-5200.
- The Trevor Project: Crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ youth through phone, text, and online chat. Call (866) 488-7386 or Text ‘START’ to 678-678.
- Veterans Crisis Line: Confidential crisis support for veterans, service members, National Guard, Reserve members, and their loved ones. Call 988 and press ‘1’ or Text 838255.
- Naseeha Mental Health: A confidential mental health helpline providing culturally and spiritually informed support for Muslim youth and young adults. Call (866) 627-3342.

- CalHOPE RedLine: Culturally responsive phone, text, chat, and video support service that connects American Indian and Alaska Native communities in California with wellness resources, referrals, and trauma-informed peer support. Call (888) 368-4090 or text (916) 252-5002.
- Trans Lifeline: A peer support hotline run by and for transgender people, offering emotional support and resource navigation. Call (877) 565-8860.
- BlackLine: A free, confidential peer support hotline that provides culturally responsive crisis support, resources, and referrals for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), with a focus on LGBTQ+ communities. Call (800) 604-5841.
Peer Support
- Togetherall: Togetherall is a safe, anonymous, and free online space dedicated to supporting mental health and well-being. All currently enrolled Los Rios students may join Togetherall for free to give and get support, learn new strategies, and unlock helpful self-care tools.
- Friends for Survival: Peer-led support for people grieving the loss of someone to suicide through support groups, resources, and community connection.

Sacramento
- Turning Point Sacramento Mental Health Urgent Care Clinic: Walk-in mental health urgent care providing same-day crisis assessment, stabilization, and referrals as an alternative to the emergency room.
- Hope Cooperative – Crisis Respite: A short-term, voluntary residential program offering a safe, supportive environment for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. Call 916-Respite (916-737-7483).
- La Familia – Centro de Apoyo Latino Program: Provides culturally responsive crisis intervention, emotional support, and resource navigation for Latino individuals and families. Call (916) 210-8733.
- Sacramento Police Department Mobile Crisis Response Team: Call the Sacramento Police Department non-emergency line at (916) 264-5471 and request the Mobile Crisis Response Team for behavioral health crisis assistance when appropriate.
El Dorado
- El Dorado County Crisis Services provides crisis resources, emergency mental health services, and local behavioral health support for county residents.
Placer
- Placer County Mental Health Crisis Services provides behavioral health crisis intervention, emergency mental health services, and referrals for county residents.
Yolo
- Yolo County Mental Health Crisis Services provides 24/7 mental health crisis response, assessment, and behavioral health support for county residents.
