The student trustee is the student voice on the board of trustees.
The student trustee represents the interests of the entire community and provides perspective to ensure that future students will be well-served. In addition to serving on the board of trustees, the student trustee chairs the Student Advisory Committee, which provides a forum for communication and exchange of ideas, information, and concerns among students.
To be eligible to run for student trustee, a student must be:
- A California resident
- Enrolled in at least five units at any Los Rios college
- In good standing of attendance (grade point average of at least 2.0) and not on academic probation
The term of office is one year and runs from June through May.
Student trustee elections are held during the spring semester each year. The next election will be held in 2026.
Current Student Trustee

Brianna Pham
June 2025 to May 2026
Brianna Pham, a graduate of Sheldon High School and current transfer student at Cosumnes River College, is honored to serve as the 2025-2026 student trustee for the Los Rios Community College District.
Like many students, Brianna's journey to community college began during a time of transition, uncertain of what lay ahead, yet guided by hope and possibility. Her experiences within the Los Rios district have fostered a deep appreciation for the transformative power of community colleges to promote growth, belonging, and meaningful change. She views these years not merely as a stepping stone but as a chapter deserving of recognition and elevation.
In her role as student trustee, Brianna approaches her responsibilities with a strong sense of purpose and care. She regards student representation not as a title, but as an opportunity to listen with intention and uplift voices that often go unheard. She believes effective policy begins with listening and is dedicated to advocating for decisions that reflect the diverse needs and experiences of students across the district.
Outside of her official duties, Brianna finds clarity through journaling, long walks, and quiet reflection, practices that deepen her understanding of herself and the world around her. She values authentic connection and believes in the small, intentional moments that build trust and community.
Brianna looks forward to creating tangible change reflected in students' lived experiences and ensuring that decisions shaping their education come from a place of understanding and real student perspective.
